Moose
Hunts
Imagine bagging an adult moose while hunting at Sandy Lake Lodge.
The moose, on an average, in Newfoundland can be as much as
4.6 to 7.7 ft in shoulder height and weigh 440 to 1820 lbs.
The males boast enormous, broad, flattened antlers with marginal
prongs or tines. What a trophy! The season runs from the second
week in September until November 30th each year. |

Woodland
Caribou Hunts

Newfoundland
is home of the most southerly location for the dark, stocky
Woodland Caribou. Large males, weighing upwards of 500 lbs.
and sporting an impressive mahogany colored antlered crown,
are a beauty to see and a challenge to hunt. Newfoundland offers
the only significant opportunity to take this trophy, with a
herd numbering 90,000 and rapidly increasing. Join us at Sandy
Lake Lodge for a hunt during Woodland Caribou season, which
runs from the second week in September until November 30th. |

Black
Bear Hunts
Schedule
a black bear hunt with Sandy Lake Lodge for the spring season,
which starts in early May and runs until late June. Or, you
if prefer to have an opportunity at a smorgasbord of game,
schedule a combination hunt - including the American black
bear - for the fall hunting season. From mid-September until
the end of October, you can join us for a black bear season.

Fishing

Experience
some of the finest in trout fishing! Whether you're in search
of Mud, Brown, Brook or Speckled; even Atlantic salmon, and
Quinaniche, you will find trophy catches only minutes from
Sandy Lake Lodge. Trout Fishing season runs from May 30 until
August 31.
